TOWNSFOLK can find out more about history tha-nks to two new adult education courses at Avoncroft Museum.

The popular Stoke Heath site is offering the programmes in conjunction with the School of Education at the University of Birmingham.

Adults interested in classes on the Parish Churches of Worcestershire can enrol at the site on Wednesday 26 September, at 7.30pm.

The ten-week cour-se is under the guidance of tutor Tim Bridges who recently published Churches of Worcestershire.

It offers an opportunity to explore more about the wealth of churches in the county and visit a few of them.

Each of the classes takes place on Wednesdays betw-een 7.30pm and 9.30pm at the museum's String of Horses building.

Students can also enrol on a ten-week course entitled Geology for Everyone, lead by David Muntzer, which will take place on Thursday nights.

Organisers say it is highly enjoyable and entertaining, exploring the history of the earth and the processes which ha-ve formed the land.

The course kicks off on Thursday September 27 at 7.30pm. The String of Horses is also the venue for the two-hour sessions.

For further details on both courses, call Kevin Down on (01905) 21535 or Heather Down on 0121 414 3413 or enrol at the first meetings.
