DOUBLE celebrations were in order for a Bromsgrove beautician who picked up a prestigious title at the national beauty awards then jetted off to get married in Venice the next day.
Helen Smith, aged 31, of Thirsk Way, Catshill, was named Facial Therapist of the Year at a ceremony held at The Lancaster Hotel, in Hyde Park, on Sunday.
Seventeen of Helen's colleagues, from Natural Beauty in Worcester Road, Hagley, joined her at the black-tie event.
She also shared her celebrations with friends and family.
Helen was selected from around 5,000 entrants and received a trophy, which will be on display in Natural Beauty.
Salon colleague Deborah Heap said: "We are all extremely proud of Helen. It really will be a double celebration for her when she gets married on Friday. We are so happy for her."
Helen left for Italy on Monday and plans to get married there on Friday.
