Burntwood Town (0) 0
Fairfield Villa (2) 4
Midland Combination Division One
AFTER their mid-week draw with Old Hill, Fairfield travelled to Burntwood and ran out easy winners.
Villa made a dream start to this game when, after five minutes, they took the lead when a cross from the left by Vinny Rattray was turned home by Richard Whitlock.
After this the visitors were forced to defend and keeper Ken Sanders came to Villa's rescue with a fine save to keep Villa in the lead.
They increased their lead after 25 minutes when a through ball by Wayne Davies sent Junior McKeon clear and he fired it into the net with a firm low shot.
On the hour Villa went three up when McKeon played the ball out wide to Rattray, who took a touch before volleying into the net from 20 yards.
Villa's fourth goal on 80 minutes was a bizarre affair when the home keeper cleared his lines.
His clearance found Villa's midfielder Neil Tinkler who struck the ball from five yards inside his own half and the ball sailed over the stranded keeper and into the net.
