COMMUNITY leaders have voiced their concerns about the condition of the town's High Street.

The cobbled road was discussed at a Droitwich Spa Town Council meeting on Monday September 3.

Cllr John Cook (Lab, Droit.West) told members he had spoken to an old woman who fell on the uneven street.

He is now calling for swift action to prevent similar accidents.

Cllr Cook said: "Pedestrians are suffering because it's in such a bad state. We have to do something."

Cllr Frank Payne (Lab, Droit.West) said: "The first thing we must do is get the drains put right."

The council agreed to contact Wychavon Highways Partnership Unit and Severn Trent Water to find out what can be done.
