A MAMMOTH march from Birmingham to Droitwich Spa is being undertaken by a town couple in memory of their baby son.
Benjamin Grimley survived just seven weeks after he was born with a heart defect.
His parents, Mandie and Gary, now want to raise money for Diana, Princess of Wales Children's Hospital, in Birmingham, where he was treated.
Cash has already rolled in thanks to car boot sales and raffles. The Chawson couple hope the 25-mile charity trek will raise at least £500.
Mandie told the Advertiser: "Benjamin died on July 27 2000 and we have had a horrendous year.
"In October, we decided to raise funds for the hospital's intensive care unit and the walk is our first major money-spinner.
"Staff were so kind and now we want to give something back in memory of Benjamin. Perhaps we can help an infant who is more fortunate than our baby."
The trek on Saturday September 22 begins at the children's hospital.
A team of around ten walkers will follow the Worcester-Birm-ingham Canal to the Railway Inn, off Kidderminster Road. If you would like to take part or pledge sponsorship call (01905) 774093.
