A GOOD Samaritan who came to the aid of a schoolgirl who collapsed has revealed his identity to her grateful family.

Christian Frazer spotted Stefanie Whitefoot as she lay on the ground in the grip of an epileptic fit, which struck as she walked to school with a friend.

He did not even realise Stefanie's thankful family had put out an appeal to find him until a work colleague told him about a story in Monday's Evening News.

"A work acquaintance told me I was in the paper the day before," said Mr Frazer.

"I'd been wondering if the girl was all right and it was nice to hear that she was well.

"I'm a little embarrassed with the attention."

The 27-year-old, of East Comer Road, St John's, said he had no first aid training, and only knew what to do because of past experiences with a friend, who is epileptic.

Stefanie collapsed near the shops in Martley Road, Worcester last Thursday - her 13th birthday.

Since then the teenager, who has never had a fit before, has undergone a check-up at her doctor's.

"When I first came round the corner on my way to work, Stefanie was lying on the floor twitching," said the civil servant, who works for Defra - the Department of Environment Food and Rural Affairs - in Whittington Road, Worcester.

"Schoolchildren were walking on the other side of the road but they were reluctant to get involved.

"I put her into the recovery position, put a jacket under her head, and removed chewing gum from her mouth."

Stefanie's mother, Rachel Daniels, of Drake Avenue, Dines Green, said the family appreciated what Mr Frazer had done.

"You can't put a price on your children's life," she said.

Stefanie's stepfather Wayne Daniels, said he was "really chuffed" Mr Frazer had came forward as he had been able to thank him properly.

"He was a really nice chap and we hope to keep in contact," he said.

Stefanie, a Chantry High School pupil, said she was "shocked and pleased" that Mr Frazer had got in contact.

"I'm very grateful for him being there," she said.

"Its nice to know that there are some genuine people around."
