A QUARTER of a mile of stationary oil engines were on display at the Hanbury Steam Rally held at Worcester Racecourse.
More than 600 exhibitors attended the rally, including Tom Attwood who drove his Fowler B6 locomotive from Eastnor Castle under its own steam to the Pitchcroft Racecourse.
Viking warriors, Bernese mountain dogs, and a 1930s bus from the Disney film One of Our Dinosaurs is Missing were all at the rally over the weekend.
The oldest steam engine in the Britain, a Brown and May engine built in 1868 called Little Dragon, led the display of vintage engines.
"It went very well, we had everything we expected," said Keith Shakespeare, who organises the event with his wife and daughter.
There has not been a steam rally at Pitchcroft since 1954, and the rally, normally held in Hanbury, was moved there because of foot-and-mouth disease.
"It's a great venue, but we won't be able to hold it here again next year because there is a race on the weekend we need it," said Mr Shakespeare, of Stoke Prior near Bromsgrove.
