A WEBSITE which teaches children that money doesn't grow on trees has received major sponsorship from a Worcester company.

Insurance Village has decided to back Childrensmoneyworld. com, a site which uses characters The Moneykins and on-line games to encourage children to learn by using the theme It Doesn't Grow on Trees.

Youngsters logging on to the site will find links to the Insurance Village web page. Any profits from business generated through this will be handed straight back to Childrensmoneyworld.com.

Managing director Nick Baldwin said he was very grateful for Insurance Village's help, and would soon be announcing the next batch of backers.

"We're anxious to get the right sponsors and want to keep the business independent," Mr Baldwin said.

The site, which is operated from Kidderminster, offers free worksheets for schools and parents to help teach young children numeracy. It also offers free information technology programs for teachers and parents.

The website has attracted worldwide interest and is receiving hits from more than 30 countries.

"It's gone from strength to strength," added Mr Baldwin.

"We're being used in a lot of schools throughout England and we're always improving contents."
