THE future looks rosy for three students who are celebrating outstanding GCSE results.
Sixteen-year-old Stourport High School students Melanie Baylie and Rob Williams scooped seven A*s, two As and a B, while James Bevans achieved 10 As, including one at A*, plus a grade B. Rob Williams, Melanie Baylie and James Bevans, who secured superb GCSE exam results.
James, who plans to study English and IT at A-level at the high school as a platform for a career as a lawyer, said: "I was quietly confident after sitting the exams but definitely pleasantly surprised by the results."
He achieved a double A* in English, A grades in art, geography, IT, maths, music, design technology and double science and a B in French.
Delighted Rob, who also has ambitions to become a lawyer, is set to study drama, maths, history and English literature at A level.
He gained A*s in drama, English language, food technology, history, maths and double science, as well as As in English literature and French and a B grade in IT.
Melanie, who will study AS level maths, physics, chemistry and geography while completing her Duke of Edinburgh sporting award scheme at Worcester Sixth Form College, said: "I was chuffed with the results, they are a really big boost ahead of the sixth form.
"I will go to university but I'm not sure yet what to study."
She gained A*s in double science, English, English literature, food and nutrition, geography and humanities, as well as A grades in maths and German and a B in IT.
