POLICE are continuing inquiries into an alleged serious assault on a nine-year-old boy who suffered serious burns to his hands.
Police say there are no longer searching for two 15-year-old youths originally said to have poured petrol over the boy's hands before setting them alight.
The incident is alleged to have happened at around 10.30am on Sunday next to Kidderminster magistrates court.
The boy attended the minor injuries unit at Kidderminster Hospital and was allowed to return home after treatment.
A police spokesman said following an interview with the injured boy, inquiries were continuing to establish the full circumstances of the incident.
