IAN Balding's useful Velvet Glade could return to form in what looks a moderate turn-out for the feature race at Epsom tomorrow.

The three-year-old filly will probably not need to exert herself unduly in the Listed Frenger Systems Fortune Stakes over seven furlongs.

Balding took the £22,000-added event last year with Nicobar so he will surely know what is required of his runner in this season's race.

The quick-actioned filly won a 10-runner rated stakes at Newmarket in July and was in the lead below two furlongs from home before scoring by one-and-a-quarter lengths from Sabo Rose.

She was unplaced in the Tote International Handicap at Ascot after that but this looks a much easier opportunity for her to confirm the promise of her Newmarket victory.

There is some potentially good action at Chester and Tim Easterby could be on target with his highly promising White Rabbit in the European Breeders Fund Combermere Fillies' Conditions Stakes.

The two-year-old filly went into a few notebooks after a springing a 20-1 surprise on her debut in a maiden race at Pontefract by half a length.

She and the runner-up went clear that day and White Rabbit gave the impression she could definitely pull more victories out of the hat.

Easterby was pleased with her performance - after she was blanketed for stalls entry - and she could have a bright future.

James Bethell could have a winner with his game performer Stretton in the Kemira Agro Handicap.

The three-year-old colt is a good handicapper and won at York and Goodwood in May before scoring by three lengths over this course and distance in July.

He was certainly not disgraced when finishing a decent sixth to Panna at Ascot last time out.

At Ayr, Linda Perratt's consistent Quiet Traveller could be on the mark in the Grant Thornton Corporate Finance Handicap.

The gelding won at Hamilton in May and Musselburgh and Redcar in July before running third at Ripon and then second when hampered at Thirsk.
