THE loss of several key players cost Chaddesley Corbett as they conceded a 2-1 lead with four minutes to go and lost 3-2 at Mahal.

But Chaddesley gave a much-improved West Midlands League Division One South display from the previous week.

They took an early lead with a goal from the outstanding Jamie Gardiner who turned two defenders before scoring with a low shot from 20 yards.

Mahal had no answer to a dominant Chaddesley side though they were rather too eager and conceded the equaliser instead of clearing their lines.

Chaddesley's defence lost possession and then gave a penalty away which Baljit Aujla converted.

In the second half, Chaddesley again took control and another goal put them in front.

Stuart Jordan cut in from the right wing and fired home with Craig Pratt's run creating the space.

Chaddesley looked like the winners until they started giving free-kicks away.

Aujla equalised with another spot-kick and Jasvinder Sira sealed the match from close-range.

Defenders Sam Poutney and Alex Kilgour must be two of the best in the league, while midfielder Ashley Phillips' work-rate and tackling impressed.
