IN response to Mrs Silk's letter referring to flowers being placed at fatal accident spots, I write in total disbelief that anyone could be so heartless as to try and deprive mourning friends and relatives of an outlet to express their grief.

I also find the so-called "stupid birthday messages" quite amusing and no more distracting than any road sign.

If these distractions affect Mrs Silk's driving so much, I suggest she should try taking the bus.

Life's too short to spend moaning. We should all try to smile a bit more.
