SAM Bowen made it five goals in three games with a brace to help Bromsgrove Rovers win 3-2 at Studley BKL in the Midland Alliance.

Rovers took the lead in the third minute when Paul Lloyd's cross was left by three Studley defenders and Paul Moore's deft header beat Keith Beasley at his near post.

Bromsgrove doubled their lead on 12 minutes. Good decisive passing involving Michael Moore and Kevin Banner set up Lloyd to cross to the far post where former Worcester City striker Bowen scored with a looping header.

Studley hit back when Craig Pountney's cross-shot was only palmed away by 'keeper Matt Lowe and Craig Gillett scored from the rebound.

They should have equalised right on half time but Pountney's goal-bound shot was stopped by Kevin Rowlands.

Five minutes into the second-half Bowen intercepted Richard Kavanagh's back-pass and shrugged off Beasley's attempts to foul him to make it 3-1.

Studley then piled on the pressure but could only manage one more goal, Ryan McGuire setting up Pountney to score on 86 minutes.

Two minutes later Rovers survived a big scare when Pountney's effort hit the inside of the post.
