A FINE century from Nick Boulton pulled Worcestershire out of trouble on the first day of their final Second XI Championship match of the season against Durham at New Road.
He hit 22 fours in his 110 before he was last out, having dominated a last-wicket stand of 62 with John Bruce (eight not out).
Paul Pollard also hit a useful 42 as the County were bowled out for 253, seam bowler Ian Hunter taking 5-34.
Durham closed on 191-6 in reply with skipper Martin Speight making an unbeaten 64.
Fast bowler Depesh Patel and spinner Matt Rawnsley bagged two wickets each for Worcestershire.
