BOWLING clubs Chainwire and Gilt Edge are preparing to host a prestigious international tournament.
There will be singles, pairs, triples and rinks action at the Fire Services Four Nations competition on Saturday and Sunday, September 8 and 9.
Scotland are the favourites but they are up against home team England, Northern Ireland and Wales.
And organisers have brought the event to Kidderminster with Chainwire's Bryan Price competing.
Former fireman Price admitted: "I didn't do so well last year so I've been relegated to the executive rinks!
"The Chainwire and Gilt Edge greens are so close together that it's an ideal place to host the tournament.
"Over the last five or six years, we have hosted the singles tournament at Kidderminster for England.
"It's quite a high standard of bowling and very competitive."
Saturday morning will mark the opening of the tournament and all spectators are welcome.
