A WORCESTER businessman will be biking more than 240 miles in Ireland to raise money for the charity Mencap.
During the past three years, Ray Sturdy has raised more than £10,000 through sponsored treks to Kazakhstan, the Ganges, Paraguay and Nepal.
This will be the fourth sponsored expedition Mr Sturdy, of Northwick Road, has embarked on to raise money for the charity
He will start his week-long trek around the Ring of Kerry on Tuesday, September 11 with around 60 other people.
The aim of the trek, organised by Mencap in association with Bike Events, is to cover 40 miles a day.
"I've toured Ireland by car and motorbike before, so I'm really looking forward to it," said Mr Sturdy.
He is on target to raise £1,000 for the charity that helps people with learning disabilities and supports their families.
Mr Sturdy also raises money for the charity by giving talks on his expeditions.
Anyone who is willing to make a donation to the trek or wants more information about the talks should call 01905 456624.
