TRADE union figures have revealed that asbestos kills two people every day in the Midlands.
Since 1997, 2,352 people have died from working with the deadly fibre - 24 of them are from Bromsgrove and 24 from Wychavon, which includes Droitwich Spa.
The Trades Union Congress (TUC) highlighted the figures and is calling for a global ban on asbestos, a public register of asbestos - which is still in many buildings - and more help for sufferers.
The fibre can cause a rare cancer which affects the lungs.
