The poor weather on Saturday afternoon did not help Nomads to move up the WCL division one table, in fact with Chaddesley Corbett defeating Old Elizabethans at Droitwich Road the Nomads 1st X1 slip back into the relegation spots and will have to finish the season with even more dedication if they are to avoid going down.

A practice evening has been planned at Bransford tonight (Friday) and all first eleven members are urged to attend.

The third eleven did manage to complete their match with Bewdley and this was totally dependent on the Nomads' bowlers Neil Claytor (4-18), Gary Sandbrook (2-8) and Nigel Rees (2- 0) who bowled the opposition out for 68.

In reply Nomads lost two early wickets, but then Tom Cullen (28) and Sam Cullen (28no) quickly retrieved the situation and achieved victory by three wickets.

On Sunday the Nomads first XI visited Belbroughton and found the local bowlers far too strong with only Kieran Rees with a superb 88 showing good batting technique. Had it not been for Kieran the rout would have been total.

Fortunately the Sunday second XI showed greater resolution at Bransford and, with the fixture in some doubt because of the weather, managed to start the match with Belbroughton II after some mopping up.

The visiting batsmen struggled throughout the afternoon against the pace of Matt Hannant (3-20) and the leg spin of Nigel Rees (2-19) and Will Woody (2 - 34). However Matt Evans and Bob Willetts both reached 50 and Belbroughton were able to achieve a late declaration after 43 overs.

Needing 153 to win in a maximum of 29 overs Nomads were given a quick start with 29 in the first five overs by Dave Pearson and Bill Jones but it was Adam Blain with a fierce innings of 52 who was able to ensure a win with two overs remaining.

Skipper Dave Pearson with a steadying 43 and Will Woody with a late 17 made excellent contribtions.

Nomads youth section continue to make steady progress towards the end of season competition finals and now know that the under 16's play Wolverton in the quarter finals of the Midland Conference trophy. This match will take place at Bransford today (Friday) and it is hoped that club members will support the team.
