THE roundabout at Barnards Green gives a great sense of pride to Malvern with the seasonal displays and it seems criminal to undermine its impact on the approach to the town. It is one of the first things tourists see.
There appears to be, according to Coun Alec Stewart-Cleary, a choice between CCTV and the flowerbed. He says the Home Office should approve CCTV by the end of the year for Barnards Green and the bed will then have a few shrubs in it.
The other roundabouts in the town are sponsored by firms. I suggest that the relevant councillors turn their attention to either finding sponsors or alter their budget in such a way as to accommodate both projects. Where there is a will there is always a way. We should not underestimate 'flower power' and the pleasure it gives.
Ledbury is a fine example of the beauty it can add to a place.
