PAUL Stammers feels the question of waste skips is "mundane" (Evening News, August 13).
This will be a shock to all those who have been campaigning about Bilford Road and Hallow Road tips. Equally, to those whose quality of life is damaged by the rubbish left by others.
And also to the several hundred people who respond to Labour's recent survey on the subject of a free collection service. In fact, getting rid of rubbish is one of the fundamental services provided by the council. So it makes since to do it effectively.
Paul also notes this is the first real fight of the year. Has that got anything to do with the fact that the Tory Council hasn't done anything since June?
