TWO stranded Malvern pensioners who were rescued by a Good Samaritan have given her their thanks.

Mary Young and Derek Clarke, who live at the Gold Hill Residential Home in the town, had been shopping in Worcester and had left their money on a bench.

The pair, who both suffer from Parkinson's disease, then became confused and Derek had a fall, but they were rescued by Carol Copper, of St John's.

She helped the pair up after the accident, put them into a taxi home, and even paid for it after they became confused and disorientated.

Carol came forward after an appeal for her identity appeared in the Evening News.

When she contacted the home she was invited along for the day, and Mary and Derek presented her with a bouquet of flowers.

"Helping them into the cab and especially giving them the money isn't something many people would have done," said Betty Box, deputy manager at the home. "Mary and Derek were very grateful."
