STUDLEY assistant manager John Mitchell was hoping to tie up the signing of former West Midlands Police left back Ollie Latchford today.

Mitchell, who worked with Latchford at Solihull Borough was set for a lunchtime meeting today to capture his signature.

The left-sided player, the son of Birmingham City legend Bob, left the Bobbies in the close season and is helping out with Rob Powell holidaying, Richard Kavanagh out through work commitments and Andy Biddle uncomfortable in the full back role.

And star midfielder Steve Duncan has an outside chance of a shock return from injury at home to Halesowen Harriers tomorrow (ko 3pm).

"We gave the lads a night off training on Thursday because there are so many missing but Steve has been training on his own and has a chance of figuring at some point tomorrow," said BKL assistant Mitchell.
