MALVERN Ramblers 2nd XI travelled to Feckenham last Saturday in a WCL match lost the toss and were put in the field.
FECKENHAM II v MALVERN RAMBLERS II
Captain S Perry and A Simpson opened and got off to a good start until Simpson was out for 12. Ramblers were then struggling to get further wickets as the two brothers S Perry (38) and C Perry (45) lifted Feckenham out of trouble.
Ramblers kept at the task and got five further wickets and with the score at 150-6 it looked as if Feckenham would only get to about 200, but R Powell (55) helped his side to 238-7 off 48 overs declaring two overs early.
Nick Dennis was the pick of the bowling with 9 overs 2-28 and A Ridley 8 overs 3-36.
Rambler's reply did not start well with A Bywater out for four. This brought in L Halion (13) and in partnership with D Cox (22) took the score to 43 before a very bad call and Luke was run out.
Ramblers lost two further wickets but the experience of captain I Walwyn (35) and the youthful M Hooper (23) put on 70 for the fifth wicket.
Just as Ramblers were looking good for victory, needing 110 off the last 20 overs, they lost the last five wickets for only nine runs leaving Feckenham winners by 107 runs with Ramblers all out for 131.
