THE Worcester round of the Dragonboat Racing National League takes place this Sunday on the Grandstand stretch of the River Severn at Pitchcroft.

Racing starts at 10am with the grand finals due to take place at around 5pm.

The event begins with a fast and furious 250 metre challenge where crews are seeded to produce the closest racing throughout the morning.

More than 20 crews from across the UK will race in this penultimate round with league titles at stake.

Fifteen members of the Worcester club member will be among the competitors after their success in the Great Britain squad in Philadelphia recently.

Their respective GB crews set British records to secure seven medals in the World Championships.

Many of the GB squad will be racing with their clubs in Worcester this weekend in one of the most competitive events of the season, as final league positions are decided.

Worcester Dragons and Worcester Too will be supported by seven open, three women, three juniors and senior crew members as they take on Batchworth and Texaco in the final push for the line.
