THOUSANDS of people from across the country are set to flock to the Three Counties Showground in Malvern for the Summer Show, which begins today.

Among those setting up stalls for the three day extravaganza yesterday was Gill Morris-Green from Jane's Flower Box in Barnards Green, who are supplying floral decorations for some of the traders.

"It's quite time consuming!" she said, "It takes a week to get it all prepared, but it's quite hectic as you have to do it all at the last minute."

Sharon Gilbert, press officer for the Three Counties Agricultural Society, said: " I think we're one of the few shows to rise from the ashes of foot and mouth and we're hoping for a good turnout and good weather."

Another Malvern florist, Hunts Florist of Court Road, has a royal appointment at the show after being asked to do the flowers for Royal visitors the Earl and Countess of Wessex, who stop off at the show today.

"It's an honour for us," said Dulcie Hunt, of Hunts.

The show runs from today (Friday) until Sunday.
