WEST Worcestershire MP Sir Michael Spicer has added his support to plans for a new medical centre in Upton-upon-Severn.
Sir Michael said he was particularly pleased that the proposed £2 million building, at the bottom of Tunnel Hill, is to be privately financed and that capital costs will not be a burden on the public purse.
He has written to Dr George Wilson at Upton's School Lane Surgery to express his support.
"I am very much aware that this new health centre would be widely welcomed, not only in Upton itself but also in surrounding villages, whose residents would be able to make use of its wide ranging facilities," he says.
Outline plans for the new centre were published last month and it will house a number of different health services under one roof.
