THE new managers of the Flyford Arms Inn, at Flyford Flavell, near Worcester, were due to unveil a new pub sign today as part of the official opening party.
John and Heather Gold commissioned the new pub sign, which features a coat of arms, based on local research.
"Although the name of the public house is the Flyford Arms Inn, there was no coat of arms on the sign," said Mr Gold.
"In fact, the name is only 15 years old, although the building has been an inn for many years under the name The Union."
Mr Gold said the sign, which was designed by David Harris, from Inkberrow, had been kept under wraps until now.
The opening party will include a free buffet, live music, dancing and "special treats" for children, including face painting, games and sweets.
Mr and Mrs Gold were managers of the Old Bull, at Inkberrow, for four years before taking over the running of the Flyford Arms Inn.
