AT the Family Service last Sunday at St Peter's Church, the vicar Rev David Nichol baptised two children - little Oliver Jack Hale of Callow End, and toddler Chloe Lydia Lamb of Arizona, USA, whose grand-parents live in Colletts Green. The service was based on the Living Water and the talk took the story of the Samaritan woman at the well as its theme. The reading was by Lyn Snook and prayers were led by Florence Rees and the organ played by Sally Linsey.

Advanced notice is given of the Michaelmas fayre being held on Saturday, September 15 at 2pm in Powick Parish Hall. Items for sale on various stalls including cakes, white elephant, books, toys, raffle, tombola etc, would be gratefully received. Facing danger of extinction - Powick Badminton Club is appealing for new members. Closed during the summer months, the club hopes to re-open in the autumn on Wednesdays in Powick Parish Hall (except Wednesday two in the month.)
