Knockhill - Round 8
Simon Andrews had an eventful weekend at Knockhill in Scotland.
The weather played a major part in how things worked out for all the teams. Thursday's test day turned out wet but Friday's was dry.
Qualifying on Saturday had to be stopped due to mist rolling in from the hills, in fact it was a terrible day with heavy rain, wind and mist in the first session, which was cut short due to the weather.
In the end Simon, who comes from Wickhamford, qualified in ninth place. In the second session Simon had a heavy fall and dropped down to 17th during an extra heavy downpour. The bike was too badly damaged to repair, so he was left with one bike to race on Sunday. Championship contender Matt Llewellyn found himself on the back row!
Race day saw the weather pick up so the track was dry but windy. Simon made good progress to come home in 12th place keeping him in 12th place in the championship. The Team UCL Racing rider now looks forward to Cadwell Park in Lincolnshire for Round 9.
