FECKENHAM manager Clive Campion has persuaded Studley hitman Brian Powell to join his side.

The Millers open up their Midland Combination Premier campaign at home to Massey Ferguson on Saturday (2.45pm).

And the prolific forward joined the Valley tenants after failing to show for training at BKL last week prompting an outburst from manager Mark Chambers.

Campion has assembled a 22-man squad for the new season and is gunning for a top six finish after a disappointing season last year.

And he is running the rule over Garringtons attacking midfielder Craig Riley who played in last night's 2-2 draw with Redditch United.

Holidaying striker Richard Hadley, cricketer Brian Powell and defender Carl Dainter (work commitments) are absentees on Saturday.

In a busy opening spell Feckenham head to Southam on Tuesday (ko 7.30pm).

The Millers continued their pre-season programme with a 3-2 win over Highway courtesy of a Hadley brace and Martin West goal last week.

And Dr Martens Western neighbours Solihull Borough were held to a 0-0 draw in a hastily-arranged friendly at the Valley on Thursday.
