I AM writing to you on behalf of The Royal Air Forces Association (RAFA), to ask you to support The Battle of Britain Wings Appeal. The Appeal needs to raise £5m this year to allow RAFA to continue looking after war veterans and serving RAF personnel and their dependants.
RAFA provides a wide range of welfare services that include care homes and a nationwide network of voluntary welfare workers who provide essential advice and assistance within local communities.
The Wings Appeal runs from September 1 to 15, the date 61 years ago, when the Battle of Britain was at its height.
