A Stourport--based company has been fined £15,000 after an explosion at a plant which left a female employee with burns to her arm.
Hansa Vaghela, who works for Morgan Matroc Ltd, also suffered cuts and a broken hand after she mistakenly mixed nitric acid and alcohol at the company's Rugby plant.
The firm, which was also ordered to pay £2,217 costs, admitted contravening Health and Safety regulations at Warwick Crown Court.
Deborah Davies, defending, said the mistake happened because proper risk assessment procedures were not in place, not because of wholesale flouting of statutory requirements.
