HIGHLIGHTS of the RSC's Visitors' Season this autumn include two concerts by Van Morrison and a sing-along version of the Sound of Music.

Morrison, the legendary Irish songwriter, will perform two gigs at the Royal Shakespeare Theatre on November 9-10. The Sing-A-Long-A-Sound of Music evening, on October 27, has proven popular with audiences dressing up as their favourite characters from the 60s hit film.

Other performances visiting Stratford this autumn include Joseph and the Amazing Technicolor Dreamcoat (October 30-November 3), Death of A Salesman (November 1), and the Northern Broadsides' version of Oedipus (November 12-16).

The season also offers its usual amount of light opera, with performances by the Stratford Amateur Operatic and Gilbert and Sullivan Societies. The musical entertainment continues on November 17 with The Fat Lady Sings, by comedy duo Kit and The Widow.
