VISITORS Alcester won the toss and put the home side into bat on a damp track.

After the openers were dismissed, wickets fell rapidly in the middle order with D Turner (4-40) doing most of the damage.

The scoring slowed after the loss of P Hedges (43) but T Lister remained and reached his half century before being bowled for 58.

D Turner (18 not out) then steered the visitors home to a seven wicket victory.

ALCESTER won the toss and put the visitors in on a damp wicket.

After losing a wicket in the first over Stratford struggled, their top scorer, Duguid only reaching 48 not out from 43 overs and the innings closed on 128-7.

Mark Woolley was the pick of the Alcester bowlers with 4-21 and Shaun Quirke proved impossible to get away, taking one wicket for only eight runs in his 10 overs.

In the Alcester innings, Nick Chadbourne (61 not out) and Shaun Quirke (50 not out) took no risks but punished the bad balls and Alcester completed an impressive 10 wicket win.

This strengthened Alcester's promotion chances before Saturday's crunch match with division one leaders Stratford Bards.
