Pershore II v Kington II

IN this Worcestershire League game the hosts were put in to bat.

Pershore made a good start with Graeme Rushin (26) and Sam Howell adding 44 runs for the first wicket in 12 overs.

The hosts then lost two quick wickets, before a stand of 104 between Sam Howell (38) and Steve Meers put Pershore back on top. Steve Meers with an excellent 78 departed with the score on 178. The last five wickets were lost for 35 runs and the innings closed on 213.

For the visitors R Goodman finished with fine figures of 5-55 from 16 overs.

Kington started well in reply and at 104-3 from 29 overs were well placed to reach their target.

But a superb team performance in the field reduced Kington to 177-9 from their allotted 50 overs. The last pair batted out three overs to deny Pershore victory. Les Wild with 3-24 from 11 overs was the main wicket taker, and he was well supported by Ben Bales 2-18, Luke Eversham 2-38, and Graeme Rushin 2-42.
