OUTDATED offices and workspaces at Kidderminster Police Station have been given a £262,000 makeover.
Offices in the Mason Road building were outdated and cramped with many large areas hardly used.
Chief Supt Ron Whitfield said the old interior belonged to another era but the new model would lead to better communication between departments. Wyre Forest MP Dr Richard Taylor launches the revamped offices at Kidderminster Police Station with the help of Jane Wallace, of the forensic investigation team.
The new design is open plan and reflects the division's intelligence-led approach to policing.
Chief Supt Whitfield said: "The new integrated area has reduced the physical and cultural barriers which traditionally existed between departments.
"It has improved the working environment of all our staff.
"The intelligence unit is physically central which ensures a dynamic exchange of information. This leads to better relationships between staff, improved performance and improved delivery of service to our community."
