I HAVE no intention of developing the subject of Cooper's Lane toilets into a saga, but in the light of Councillor June Salter's response to my letter of the previous week, I felt that I must respond to remedy her inaccuracies.
Firstly, I think it should have been apparent throughout the press coverage, throughout the meetings and the presentations that have been made, that under no circumstances do I, the business association, civic society or the town centre forum, along with other private individuals, wish to see more superloos in Stourport as indicated in Mrs Salter's letter.
In fact all the individuals opposed to the demolition of Coopers Lane toilets in no uncertain terms do not wish for a single superloo in Stourport.
Furthermore, with reference to the laughter in the scrutiny committee at the mention of the prostate support group, this has not only been verified by one of your reporters, but also by embarrassed members of that committee.
I have no doubt that Councillor Salter had the interests of Stourport at heart, and maybe she misunderstood a section of my presentation, but I can assure you that my letter was accurate.
