THERE has been much correspondence concerning the state of roads and problems experienced by motorists and cyclists as a consequence.

It is not only motorists and cyclists who have hazards as they travel, but pedestrians and the state of pavements; especially elderly retired people who walk or use motorised scooters.

The stretch of pavement in Broadway Station Road, from the Railway Arch, into the High Street is in a very poor state, whilst the road condition has improved following the upheaval of many months work by the utilities, the condition of the footpath has deteriorated, worsened by the heavy machinery used.

This is an area where there is a number of retirement complexes, all of whom pay their share of council tax etc.

I've had one fall as the result of the uneven surface of the pavement, fortunately without serious injury.

Until recently one overgrown hedge added to the difficulties of walking into Broadway.

So whoever is responsible for maintaining the pavements, could you please assess, and correct this problem before someone is seriously injured.
