THIEVES netted a haul of garden toys valued at more than £20,000 when they stole a lorry from a Stourport firm.

The Scania lorry, carrying £22,288 worth of trampolines, swings, slides, climbing frames and tents, was taken from the yard of Tube Plastic Activity Toys in Severn Road between 5pm on Saturday, July 28 and 1pm the following day.

It was recovered - without its valuable load - in Bilston on the Sunday evening.

A spokeswoman for the firm, which manufactures the toys and employs about 130 people, said a "substantial" reward was on offer for information relating to the arrest and conviction of the thieves.

"It's not just about the cost of the toys, we really want to catch the people responsible," she added.

She said the toys taken were "very noticeable" in an orange and blue colour scheme and branded with the firm's logo, and were only available through authorised TP Activity Toys dealers.

The lorry had been scheduled to deliver its load to Cambridge.

Anyone with information about the theft or the location of the toys is asked to call Kidderminster Police on 01562 820888 or Crimestoppers 0800 555111.
