THIEVES quite literally moved the goalposts when they struck at playing fields used by a Kidderminster football club.
Two metal goal frames were taken from a pitch at playing fields in Lea Castle between 1pm on Saturday and 9am on Sunday - leaving St John's Tigers crying "foul!"
Club chairman Mick Stuart is hoping the thieves will be caught and will have to pay the penalty. He said: "They must have had a truck or something to take these goalposts away - it took 20 men two hours to put them up two weeks ago."
He said he believed the goals, worth between £300 and £400, had been stolen to order. The club is considering offering a reward for their return.
