STOURPORT Youth Centre is reopening next month with a colourful new image - thanks to a splash of paint and no little imagination from its users.

About a dozen youngsters spent two days rubbing down and painting the walls of the coffee bar area of the Windermere Way centre to give it "a nice fresh look", according to youth worker Kath Nicholls. Chris White, Terri Finn and Adam Delaney give Stourport Youth Centre a bright new look.

She said they had also bought new furniture from club funds ahead of the club's reopening on Thursday, September 12, although they have done such a good job decoration is set to continue in other parts of the centre after this date.

It will be open every Thursday to people aged 14 to 21, and new members will be welcome. A group of bike enthusiasts also meets there, while the centre has its own motorbike.

Staff also plan to run sessions for 16 to 25-year-olds to train how to man the Youthline phone line service starting Monday, September 3.

The centre can be contacted for more information on 01299 823430.
