A bedroom fire at a Stourport home caused smoke damage to four other properties after a loft hatch was left open.
The blaze at The Gilgal at 4pm on Saturday was attended by crews from Stourport and Kidderminster.
It began after a pile of rubbish, which included carpets, caught fire while the owner carried out a spot of DIY.
