ARCHERY: harp-shot Ron Harvey has completed a stunning hat-trick of golds in the European Field Archery Championships.
Stourport's Harvey, 62, took to Switzerland's hills over a gruelling five days to return his third bowhunter recurve veteran win in as many years.
And the Harveys kept it in the family as son Stephen, 33, earned a bronze in the unlimited bow section for the third time.
Ron, who aims to impress at next year's World Championships in Scotland, admitted: "It's getting more difficult.
"I was hoping for a gold this year but it was a very tough course and the competition was stiffer.
"An archer from Germany was catching me up on the last day but I eventually won by 240 points which was quite a lead."
The tricky terrain led to a nasty fall for Ron who competed with a bruised arm on the last day.
His son put together a great final effort to finish third after struggling on earlier days.
The duo travel the country competing but are based at the March Hare club, Broughton Hackett.
