THINK you could cut it in a boy band? If the answer is yes, then get yourself to Birmingham.

Pershore music production company Little Devil Productions is holding open auditions at The Birmingham School of Speech and Drama on John Bright Street, near New Street Station, from 10am to 6pm on August 25 for potential members of a new band.

The company is looking for Vale men aged 18 to 28, of good appearance, who can sing and dance.

Entrants will be seen on a first come, first seen basis and should be prepared to wait their turn.

Dan Harley, Little Devil representative, said: "We're looking for people with different backgrounds, different musical cultures, styles and influences.

"They will be judged on five criteria - how they appear, their singing ability, their personality, their ability to move and their enthusiasm."

Dan knows all about boy bands as he has been in two, XL and Plus Four, and has some words for wannabe stars.

"They need to be able to talk to the press and if asked an unexpected question, need to respond quickly and confidently.

There's late nights, early mornings and a lot of hard work and team work, but if you're successful, it's a fabulous life."

Applicants will have to sing one or two songs. One of these must be an upbeat track of their choice and the other an unaccompanied slow song.

Backing tracks of hit songs by Ricky Martin and Backstreet Boys will be provided, although ready-cued CDs and cassettes are allowed.

They must also bring a photograph of themselves, which will not be returned.

Selected singers will go through to the next stage and could be a step nearer to having hordes of screaming teenage girls chasing them down the street.

Little Devil Productions has set up a hotline on 07815 616648.
