INCONSISTENT Cookley's Jekyll and Hyde season continued in Worcestershire League Division Two after a sound beating from lowly Belbroughton.

Despite their opponents being second from bottom in the table, they romped home by nine wickets.

Put into bat first, Cookley were going well, led by big-scoring Kiwi Jim Blakeley's fine 61.

But Les Shirley's surprise departure triggered a collapse and they only managed to recover to 178-9.

Belbroughton's batsmen were in superb form, losing only one wicket in knocking off the runs needed.

The strugglers gained sweet revenge for the heavy defeat at Cookley earlier in the season.

Cookley 178-9 (3 points), Belbroughton 179-1 (20).

Cookley seconds' game was much closer affair as Martin Goode (57) and Gavin Brown (38) helped them to 168-7.

But Belbroughton replied with 169-7 to win by three wickets despite bowler Rob Horton's 4-80.
