THE firm managing the new B&Q Warehouse development has tried to allay fears over toxic contamination on the site, writes Julian Seva.
Serious concerns had been raised by residents near the old Alcad Battery site, in Smallwood, about cadmium deposits in the ground.
But surveyors CNP Ltd stressed its £2.5 million "remediation" project would make safe any contamination.
The remediation exercise has now started and will be completed by October.
