MORE than 1,000 players are preparing for the start of the Bromsgrove Advertiser/Messenger District Football League.
The big kick-off on Sunday will see 39 teams battle it out in the four divisions.
League fixture secretary Dave Hewitt said: "We have gone from strength to strength since we started in 1991. That was proved with the success of our teams in outside cup competitions last season."
Alvechurch Darts will defend their Division One title which they won by three points from Rubery Social and Mostyn Rangers.
Eight teams will compete in the Youth Division on Sunday afternoons.
