DROITWICH Spa Bowling Club gained a place in the finals of the Lincoln Interclub Two Fours Championships at Worthing this weekend for the third time.

At Wellingborough on Sunday August 4, the team put on a show of precision bowling with skips Phil Moule and Ian Jenkins in no mood to be beaten.

They powered their way to a 46-22 win over Beccles in the first game.

In the final, Spa again produced some top class bowling under intense pressure with the game going to the last wood.

Moule won his game by three shots and Jenkins was 16-16 with one end to play and three woods to go.

The Bletchley skip fired with his first wood and missed, Jenkins bowled a corker to the back of the pack. Bletchley skip fired again and missed giving a win for Spa 38 shots to 32 to the delight of the travelling supporters.

Also competing at Worthing from the Spa bowls club will be Richard Hall in the champion of champions event, Moule and Jenkins in the pairs and Moule, Jenkins and Hall in the county triple championship.
