WITH reference to the letter from Mr Blight, I have watched the Crown Court skateboarders with fascination. There is neither a referee nor an umpire but the assembled boarders practice their sport without upset.

Each waits his turn to improve his own skills and applauds others for their achievements. There is a distinct absence of:

6 The foul-mouthed aggression that is associated with football.

6The alcohol consumption that is associated with rugby.

6 The elitism that is associated with cricket.

It is a pleasure to witness this multi-cultural group of youngsters who hail from all walks of life.

Not only are they taking exercise and socialising on a level that would put some adults to shame they are, above all, having fun.
